Tally Ho! Improvement Proposal (TIP) Template

This proposal template is intended to ensure proposals that come forward for discussion and consideration have enough information to support effective and healthy debate. If you need additional headings for relevant information, the template is flexible and presented as a guide, not a rule.

If you have suggestions or edits for the TIP template, please comment in this thread with your desired changes and why they should be supported.

Proposal Title - What is this proposal about? What are the functions of the contributors? (delegate/community member/member of other project/other)

Contributors - Who helped write the proposal?

Which Pack and/or Den(s) are relevant to the proposal?

Proposal Details - Tell us what you want to see. Has this proposal or parts of it been previously discussed on Discord? If so, what were the conclusions coming from the discussion?

What are you requesting?

  • Funds?
  • Contributors?
  • Skills?
  • Reimbursement?
  • Something else?

What’s the norm for compensation of this task? Is there a reasonable ETH or USD norm or does this only make sense with a token?

Timeline - what time period does this proposal cover? What voting period do you hope/expect to put this forward? When should we launch, and then evaluate success? Are there key metrics you can provide?

What can we use as a metric of success - How will you measure the intended outcomes or achievement(s) of your proposal?

What are the key benefits?

What are the most likely risks?

What changes (if any) are required to existing code, processes, deployments, etc?

Great work @KrisJ.

While working on the TIP 2 proposal I figured we could maybe add these two guiding questions:

Contributors - Who helped write the proposal? :new: What are the functions of the contributors? (delegate/community member/member of other project/other)

Proposal Details - Tell us what you want to see :new: Has this proposal or parts of it been previously discussed on Discord? If so, what were the conclusions coming from the discussion?

I would add a metric on success. For example, “How will you measure the intended outcomes or achievement(s) of your proposal?”.
